Defend Public Education in New Hampshire

Stand up for New Hampshire’s public schools that are increasingly under attack!

This legislative session New Hampshire’s public schools were threatened by SB-193, which was called the most dangerous school voucher bill in the nation.  The bill would have siphoned millions of taxpayer dollars from local school districts and given to parents to pay for private and religious schools or to homeschool. A sustained, public outcry defeated this bill and protected public schools ... for now. We know the opponents of strong public schools will be back!

Volunteer with Rights & Democracy to protect and improve public education during the current midterm election season.

SIGN ON IN SUPPORT!

We—parents, taxpayers, and supporters of public education—urge state legislators and Gov. Chris Sununu to uphold these basic principles:

✓ Every child, regardless of their income level, zip code, race, or ability deserves a quality education, as a right not a privilege.

New Hampshire should invest in our public schools to build strong communities and our future leaders.

We will protect our public schools from being dismantled at the federal and state levels and work to provide all students with a quality public education.

If SB 193 or anything resembling it comes before the legislature or governor again, please kill it dead immediately.

Taking resources from public education to help private schools is essentially hijacking tax dollars from working families without representation. It is a vote of no confidence in the very schools you, Mr. Sununu, have failed as our governor. Don’t cop out of your responsibility to lead responsibly with our children’s education!
